Stop by John Howie for cocktails with a cause
September 26, 2011

Any seasoned Eastsider knows that John Howie Steak offers some of the best food in town. However, this month John Howie is also serving up a trendy new cocktail complete with charitable donations on the side.
For the remainder of September, John Howie Steak will be featuring their new “Effen Madras” cocktail (see bottom left in photo above) for $7.00 during happy hour. This cranberry and orange cocktail mixed with pineapple infused Effen vodka is a fruity, refreshing accompaniment to Bellevue’s last few days of summer weather. John Howie makes this cocktail even sweeter by donating $1 for every “Effen Madras” cocktail sold to Dress for Success, an organization that supports the economic independence of underprivileged women by equipping them with the attire and support necessary to build professional and financial success.
Although September is rapidly coming to a close, the opportunity for John Howie diners to contribute to worthy causes does not. As we begin October, John Howie Steak and John Howie’s Seastar Restaurant and Raw Bar are featuring yet another original cocktail with funding going to the Young Survival Coalition, an organization for women under the age of 40 who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. Inspired and named after Seastar server Tomoko Bryant who is currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer, the “Tomokotini” (bottom right in photo above) is a refreshing blend of cranberry juice, simple syrup, Crème de Cassis, lime and ABSOLUT Wild Tea Vodka. For each “Tomokotini” purchased, $1 will go to the YSC all through the month of October.
